Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has marked his son Cameron Nonso Okoye’s 18th birthday with an emotional tribute, giving fans a rare glimpse into the family side of the P-Square star as his wider family dispute continues to dominate headlines.

Cameron turned 18 in September 2026, and Mr P shared photos and a heartfelt message celebrating his journey from childhood into adulthood. The singer described his son as one of his greatest blessings and said that, despite reaching adulthood, Cameron would always remain his little boy.

The birthday celebration comes at a particularly significant time for the Okoye family.

Cameron Turns 18 as Family Dispute Plays Out Publicly

Cameron’s birthday arrives just days after Mr P gave testimony in the Federal High Court in Lagos concerning P-Square royalties.

During the proceedings, Peter confirmed receiving more than $800,000 in SACEM royalties connected to P-Square music between 2016 and 2026. He maintained that the money belonged to him and his twin brother Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, and argued that their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, had no claim to the funds.

The case forms part of a wider legal dispute involving Jude, who is facing allegations concerning N1.3 billion and $1 million. Jude has pleaded not guilty, and the case is ongoing.

Against that backdrop, Cameron’s 18th birthday offered a very different side of Peter’s life. Instead of discussing music business disagreements, the singer focused entirely on his relationship with his son.

A Father-Son Moment Amid a Difficult Year

The timing makes the celebration more than another celebrity birthday post. It shows how personal milestones can continue even while a family is dealing with serious public disagreements.

Peter has also spoken openly this year about his strained relationship with his brothers. In April, he announced that he would no longer celebrate his birthday on November 18, the date he had traditionally shared with Paul, and would instead celebrate on November 30.

His comments about the family dispute have increasingly moved beyond music and business into deeply personal territory.

For Cameron, however, his 18th birthday was marked by his father’s public affection. Peter’s wife, Lola Omotayo, also celebrated their son with her own birthday tribute.

Why Cameron’s Birthday Matters

Cameron coming of age also marks an important moment for a family that has spent much of 2026 in the public eye.

The P-Square story has increasingly become about more than the breakup of a successful music duo. It now includes questions about family relationships, business arrangements, royalties and how much of a private dispute should become public.

Cameron’s birthday provided a brief shift in focus. While the legal and family disagreements continue, Mr P chose to publicly celebrate one thing that remains separate from the music business: his relationship with his son.

The royalty case is expected to continue in December, with further proceedings scheduled for December 8 and 9, 2026.
