Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has doubled down on his support for U.S. President Donald Trump, arguing that immigration policy could permanently reshape America’s political landscape if Republicans lose control in future elections.
Speaking in a widely shared video posted on X, Musk claimed that another four years of Democratic leadership would result in the legalization of millions of undocumented immigrants living in key swing states. He argued that such a move would alter the electoral map in the same way California shifted politically over previous decades, giving Democrats a long-term advantage in Congress and the White House.
According to Musk, the issue was a major reason he backed Trump during the 2024 election and continues to support Republican candidates ahead of the 2026 U.S. midterm elections. His comments come as his political action committee, America PAC, prepares a major campaign expected to spend more than $100 million on voter outreach, digital advertising and canvassing in an effort to help Republicans retain control of Congress.
Musk’s remarks quickly gained traction online, drawing praise from conservative figures who echoed his concerns over border security and immigration policy. Others pushed back, arguing that his claims oversimplified complex immigration and demographic trends while fueling an already heated political debate.
