The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has intensified his grassroots campaign ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, taking his message to communities across the state.
Oyebamiji and his campaign team visited Olaoluwa Local Government Area, Ile-Ogbo and Ikire-Ile, where he was received by party supporters and residents who gathered to show their support for his candidacy. Recent reports have described the APC candidate’s campaign as increasingly focused on grassroots mobilisation and presenting his policy agenda directly to voters.
At the campaign stops, supporters highlighted Oyebamiji’s professional background, particularly his experience in public finance and previous roles at OSICOL, the Osun State Ministry of Finance and the National Inland Waterways Authority.
The APC candidate has continued to campaign on his Osun Prosperity Agenda, a seven-pillar programme covering poverty alleviation and job creation, accountable governance, economic opportunities, security, agriculture, education and healthcare, as well as infrastructure and tourism.
Oyebamiji has presented agriculture, youth employment, healthcare and education as key areas his administration would prioritise if elected. His campaign platform also promises expanded economic opportunities for young people and women, alongside reforms aimed at improving governance and infrastructure.
During the campaign, the APC candidate also criticised the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, accusing the government of failing to properly utilise funds allocated for development projects.
Adeleke’s administration, however, has rejected Oyebamiji’s criticisms and separately defended its own development record, including investments in agriculture and rural infrastructure.
With the election now approaching, both camps are stepping up their mobilization across Osun’s 30 local government areas. Oyebamiji’s campaign is seeking to build momentum through ward-level engagements, rallies and meetings with community groups, while the incumbent’s camp continues to campaign on its record in government.
The August 15 poll is expected to be closely watched as voters decide between the APC challenger and Governor Adeleke, who is seeking another term.
