Photos released from Atlético Madrid’s reserve team training showed the former Spain international looking exceptionally muscular in the club’s black Nike training kit, with his tattooed arms and impressive physique quickly becoming a talking point across social media. The images sparked a wave of admiration from supporters, many joking that the legendary striker now looks more like a professional bodybuilder than a retired footballer.
While Torres may no longer be scoring goals, his commitment to fitness appears as strong as ever. Fans praised the 42-year-old for leading by example, with many suggesting his work ethic sets the standard for the young players under his guidance.
The former Atlético Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea forward is entering another campaign in charge of Atlético Madrid B after extending his contract until June 2027. Despite reported interest from clubs in Spain’s top two divisions, Torres chose to remain with the reserve side, continuing the project of developing academy talent and guiding the team toward promotion from the Primera Federación.
Torres’ playing career made him one of Spain’s most celebrated strikers.
