Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy is set to make history by headlining the opening night of Reggae Land 2026, becoming the first African artist to top the bill at the UK’s biggest reggae and dancehall festival. The expanded three-day event will run from July 31 to August 2 at the 65,000-capacity Milton Keynes National Bowl.
Reggae Land has grown to three days for the first time after its 2026 edition sold out in record time. Organizers added a new Friday opening show, with Burna Boy chosen to headline alongside Jamaican stars Masicka, Christopher Martin, and Julian Marley & The Uprising. The weekend will continue with performances from Beenie Man, Morgan Heritage, Vybz Kartel, Shenseea, Shaggy and more than 120 artists performing across seven stages.
Burna Boy’s inclusion is widely seen as another milestone for Afrobeats on the global stage. Rather than simply appearing on the lineup, he has been entrusted with launching the festival’s first-ever Friday show, an indication of his growing influence beyond African music and into reggae and dancehall audiences worldwide. The announcement comes as Burna Boy continues to enjoy a busy international run following his latest tour and recent festival appearances.
