U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning over ongoing Swiss-mediated negotiations with Iran, cautioning that the fragile diplomatic process could collapse if key conditions are not met.
Speaking as technical discussions continue following last week’s high-level talks in Switzerland, Trump rejected claims that the United States had secretly provided funds or financial concessions to Tehran. He insisted that Washington would not release frozen Iranian assets or offer financial incentives unless Iran fulfills its obligations under the emerging framework agreement.
The warning comes amid a delicate phase in negotiations aimed at reaching a broader peace agreement within 60 days. Mediators from Qatar and Pakistan recently announced that both sides had agreed to a roadmap for further talks, including discussions on nuclear oversight, sanctions, and regional security issues.
However, several major disagreements remain unresolved. Washington and Tehran have offered conflicting accounts regarding nuclear inspections, the use of frozen Iranian assets, and the terms of future sanctions relief. While Trump has publicly claimed that negotiations are progressing, Iranian officials have pushed back on several U.S. assertions, highlighting the fragile nature of the talks.
