Award-winning Nollywood actress and television host Osas Ighodaro has secured the lead role in Imported Bahu, a new cross-cultural Nolly-Bollywood micro-drama series that is already generating excitement among fans of African and Indian entertainment.

The series, unveiled by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, stars Ighodaro along with Bollywood actor Rajniesh Duggall in a story centered on love, family secrets, and cross-cultural romance.

According to the production team, Imported Bahu is the first vertical micro-drama series from Forever 7 Entertainment, a company known for promoting collaborations between Nollywood and Bollywood.

In the series, Ighodaro plays Zara Ogun, a wealthy and confident Nigerian fashion entrepreneur who becomes the unexpected bride of a man from a prominent Indian family. Her arrival shakes up family expectations and sets the stage for a dramatic clash of cultures, traditions, and personal ambitions.

The production continues the growing trend of international collaborations between Africa and Asia, following successful projects such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards. Industry observers say the new series reflects the increasing global appeal of Nollywood talent and storytelling.

Imported Bahu is scheduled to premiere on July 2, 2026, on LebaraPlay, described by its creators as Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama platform. The trailer has already attracted attention online, with fans praising the fresh concept and celebrating Ighodaro’s latest achievement.
