Forex Trader Harassed by Suspected Agberos in Lagos Traffic, Sparks Outrage Online

A viral video showing popular Nigerian forex trader Jeffrey Benson being confronted by suspected agberos in traffic has reignited concerns over street extortion and motorists’ safety in Lagos. The 46-second clip, reportedly recorded in Ikorodu, shows several men surrounding Benson’s luxury SUV, banging on the vehicle and allegedly demanding money before allowing him to continue.

In the footage, some of the men are seen threatening to damage the vehicle if their demands are not met, while Benson appears visibly distressed and calls for assistance. Social media users identified the trader, who is known for showcasing luxury cars and sharing forex trading content online, though authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

The incident has triggered widespread reactions online. While many condemned the alleged intimidation and called for stronger action against street extortion, others argued that the problem affects motorists across Lagos regardless of status. The video has once again fueled conversations about the activities of agberos and the need for improved public safety and enforcement on major roads.
