Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has added another jaw-dropping luxury car to his collection after unveiling what is being described as the world’s first one-of-one widebody Bugatti Chiron.
The bespoke hypercar, built by Dubai-based luxury customization company Venuum Black, was revealed as part of Burna Boy’s 35th birthday celebrations. The project transforms the already-exclusive Bugatti Chiron into a unique masterpiece featuring aggressive widebody styling, exposed carbon-fibre details, signature French Racing Blue paint, a custom number “7” on the bonnet and “Burna Boy” lettering integrated into the rear wing.
The custom-built Chiron is reportedly valued at more than $5.6 million (over ₦9 billion), making it one of the most expensive celebrity-owned vehicles in Africa. Under the hood remains Bugatti’s legendary 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, capable of producing 1,500 horsepower and a top speed exceeding 400 km/h.
The latest acquisition crowns Burna Boy’s already impressive garage, which includes luxury models from Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. The singer had previously teased the project on social media, saying he wanted a “one-of-one” Bugatti unlike any other in the world, a vision Venuum Black says it has now delivered.
As expected, the unveiling has sparked widespread reactions online. While many fans applauded Burna Boy for rewarding years of global success through sold-out tours, Grammy recognition and billions of music streams, others questioned the eye-watering price tag, arguing that such extravagant spending comes at a time of economic hardship.
Burna Boy has since brushed off the criticism, insisting he earned the luxury through years of hard work on the international stage. The unveiling further reinforces his reputation as one of Africa’s biggest music exports, and one of its most high-profile luxury car collectors.
