The biggest names in Black entertainment gathered in Los Angeles overnight as the 2026 BET Awards celebrated another year of excellence across music, film, television and sports, with Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B and Teyana Taylor emerging among the night’s biggest winners.
Hosted by comedian Druski at the Peacock Theater, the ceremony featured emotional acceptance speeches, high-energy performances and special tributes to industry legends. Teyana Taylor enjoyed the biggest night of her career, taking home four awards.
This included the prestigious Icon of the Year honor, Best Actress, Fashion Vanguard Award, and Video Director of the Year for her visual project Escape Room. The award was presented by music icon Janet Jackson, with Taylor thanking fans for supporting her 20-year journey in entertainment.
Hip-hop superstar Cardi B also had a successful evening, winning Best Female Hip-Hop Artist after entering the ceremony as the most-nominated artist. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar continued his remarkable award streak by adding more BET trophies to his collection, cementing his status as one of the most decorated artists of his generation.
Other major winners included Kehlani, who claimed Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, while Leon Thomas successfully defended his Best Male R&B/Pop Artist title. Clipse also enjoyed a strong night, earning multiple awards following their highly acclaimed comeback.
Beyond the awards, fans were treated to performances from Cardi B, Kehlani, Doechii, Tems, Queen Latifah, Common, Don Toliver and several other stars, making the ceremony one of the most talked-about entertainment events of the year.
