Nobody invited Big Soso into the fight, but she came prepared anyway.
When the first episode of the BBNaija Season 10 reunion aired on Monday night, most viewers expected the Isabella and Thelma tension to dominate. What they did not expect was for Big Soso, real name Sonia Amako, 28-year-old Kaduna-born entrepreneur with a company in the UK, to walk into the conversation and then take over.
While Thelma and Isabella’s argument was getting heated, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu turned to Soso and asked her to weigh in. What followed was one of the most talked-about moments of the night. Soso turned to Isabella and declared: “Calm down. I dey your back kampe. I go fight your battles. I don buy am.” The audience loved this, and Twitter instantly lost its mind.
She then locked eyes with Thelma and delivered a line that no one can stop talking about: “Aunty shut up, you no get talk. You just dey find talk. Shege Dan iska.”
And even when Thelma retaliated with, “You are not that girl, you are the little one,” Soso responded without missing a beat: “You are not up to my network.”
By the time Ebuka stepped in, Thelma was in tears and Soso was standing tall.
But not everyone agreed with this. Some viewers have accused Soso of being a serial fight buyer, saying that she spent a lot of time inserting herself into conflicts that did not concern her.
“Big Soso always buying fights that are not hers,” one tweet read. Another called her move “cheap highlight hunting.” The debate is raging between her being a girls’ girl or an attention seeker.
No matter what, the result is clear. Thelma cried. Isabella sat unbothered. And Big Soso walked away from Episode One as its headline act, whether anyone asked her to or not.
