Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially announced his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, which is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, marking another major milestone in his 15-year music career.

The 13-track project is expected to be Davido’s shortest studio album to date, a departure from his previous full-length releases, which typically featured 17 songs. The singer unveiled the project with regal-themed visuals and a message that read, “The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne,” reinforcing the album’s central theme of purpose, legacy and destiny.

The album title, ORIADÉ, is rooted in the Yoruba language, combining ideas of destiny (“Ori”) and the crown (“Adé”), a symbolic reflection of Davido’s journey from rising star to one of Africa’s biggest global music exports. The announcement comes just weeks after the release of his 2026 comeback single, “I Know Who I Be,” which serves as the project’s lead record.

The announcement immediately sparked excitement across social media, with fans flooding timelines with crown emojis, pre-save links and messages celebrating what many believe will be another defining chapter in Davido’s career.

Nigerian rap legend Olamide was among those who praised the striking cover artwork, while rapper Odumodublvck jokingly lamented not getting a feature call, adding to the online buzz surrounding the project.
