Takehiro Tomiyasu Trains With Crystal Palace as Premier League Return Nears

Former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is training with Crystal Palace as he weighs up a possible move back to the Premier League. The 27-year-old Japan international is currently a free agent after leaving Ajax earlier this summer and has joined Palace’s pre-season camp in Como, Italy, to build fitness and assess his next step.

Tomiyasu is attracting interest from clubs in both England and Italy, but Crystal Palace have given him access to their training facilities while discussions continue. He could even feature in one of Palace’s upcoming pre-season friendlies as the club evaluates his fitness following the injury setbacks that disrupted his time at Arsenal.

Palace are looking to strengthen their defence after the departure of Maxence Lacroix, and Tomiyasu’s ability to play at right-back, left-back and centre-back makes him an attractive option on a free transfer. However, his recent injury record remains a key consideration before any deal is finalised.
