Joining Pusha T on stage, Pharrell referenced Jay-Z’s freshly shaved haircut—revealed in a pre-show video featuring Beyoncé, and declared, “They poked the bear and now the bear cut his hair. Now he about to go to war.” He added, “I hope you kill all them…”, before telling the crowd, “Y’all know who I’m talking about.”
While Pharrell did not name anyone directly, the remarks immediately sparked speculation online that they were aimed at Drake, given his long-running history with Pusha T and recent tensions within hip-hop.
The concert also delivered a rare pop culture moment as Rihanna joined Jay-Z to perform “Run This Town” before launching into “Bitch Better Have My Money,” while Beyoncé later took the stage for “Drunk in Love.” Fans celebrated the performance as the first time Rihanna and Beyoncé had appeared together on the same stage in roughly ten years, making the finale even more memorable.
The historic residency celebrated the anniversaries of Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint, featuring surprise appearances from Usher, Pharrell, Clipse, Eminem, Nas and several other music stars. Pharrell’s comments have since fueled speculation that Jay-Z could be preparing a major musical return, potentially his first studio album since 2017’s 4:44, although no official announcement has been made.
