Nigerian adult content creator Sephy Persephone has responded to a viral clip suggesting she planned to erase every trace of her adult content before having children, saying her comments were taken out of context.
Speaking during a recent interview released on July 1, the 24-year-old explained that while she hopes to leave the adult entertainment industry before starting a family, she never claimed she could completely wipe every video from the internet. Instead, she said her goal is to remove as much content as possible to protect her future children from her past.
Sephy revealed that she turned to creating solo adult content in 2024 after enduring years of personal hardship, including fleeing a strict home environment and experiencing homelessness. She said the work helped her regain financial stability, at one point earning as much as $6,000 in a single month, while continuing to pursue tailoring and other creative ventures.
The viral clip sparked intense debate across Nigerian social media. While some sympathized with her desire to move on and build a different future, many questioned whether it was realistic to remove content that had already spread online. Others joked that once material reaches the internet, downloads and reposts make complete deletion nearly impossible.
Addressing the backlash, Sephy maintained that she takes full responsibility for her past decisions and is simply focused on creating a better future for herself and her eventual family. She also spoke about facing harsh criticism and even death threats due to her career, saying she remains committed to rebuilding her life on her own terms.
