Seven-time Wimbledon Open champion Serena Williams has gleefully accepted a wildcard invitation to the competition nearly four years after her last singles match at the 2022 US Open.
The American tennis star will also partner her sister – Venus – in the doubles events.
The sisters won a record-equalling six doubles titles at SW19.
The All-England Club reserved the last and eighth and final women’s singled wildcard for Williams who recently returned to competitive action on the Doubles Circuit.
Williams briefly starred at the Queen’s Club alongside Victoria Mboko and at the Berlin Open with Karolina Muchova.
