ull City have reportedly made an €18 million bid for Rayo Vallecano defender Nobel Mendy as the newly promoted Premier League side continue strengthening ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 21-year-old Senegalese defender only joined Rayo permanently this summer after impressing during a loan spell from Real Betis, but his performances have already attracted significant interest.
Standing at 1.87m, Mendy emerged as one of La Liga’s breakout young defenders last season, earning plaudits for composed displays against some of Spain’s biggest clubs. Rayo signed him for just €3 million, meaning Hull’s reported offer would represent a substantial profit, although Real Betis are entitled to 20% of any future transfer fee under a sell-on clause.
Neither Rayo Vallecano nor Mendy has indicated whether they are willing to proceed with the move. If completed, the deal would become one of Hull City’s biggest-ever transfer investments as owner Acun Ilıcalı continues backing the club’s Premier League ambitions.
