Manchester City Leave Out Grealish and Phillips for Asia Pre-Season Tour

Manchester City have omitted Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips from their 28-man squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, where they will face Inter Milan, the K League All-Stars and Atlético Madrid. The decision has intensified speculation over both players’ futures at the Etihad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Grealish, who spent last season on loan at Everton, remains sidelined as he continues recovering from a foot injury. While City have not ruled out him staying at the club, interest in the winger is expected before the transfer window closes. Phillips, meanwhile, has also been left behind as he closes in on another loan move to Sheffield United after an injury-hit spell at Bramall Lane last season.

City manager Enzo Maresca has instead selected a mix of senior players and promising youngsters for the tour, with several World Cup participants also absent due to extended post-tournament breaks.
