Nigeria’s Kayinsola Ajayi stormed into the final of the men’s 100m at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Tuesday evening in drizzling Glasgow rains as he continues his dazzling form in the year.
Ajayi clocked a time of 9.93s (+0.7) to win his heat under the rain, beating Jeremiah Azu who ran 10.00s and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu from Ghana in 10.06s.
Ajayi’s Nigerian compatriot, Nicholas Fakorede, clocked a time of 10.06s to finish 4th in the men’s 100m semis at the Commonwealth Games.
Gift Leotlela won the heat in 10.02s (1.1) ahead of Eddie Nketia in 10.03s.
Meanwhile Favour Ashe clocked a time of 10.07s to finish 5th in the men’s 100m semis at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme won in a Cameroonian National Record in 9.90s, ahead of Lachlan Kennedy in 9.94s.
