The conflict between the United States and Iran has intensified sharply after both countries exchanged another round of military strikes, widening the fighting beyond Iranian territory and raising fears of a broader regional war. The latest exchanges marked the seventh consecutive night of U.S. air operations against Iran, while Tehran retaliated by targeting U.S.-linked military assets across several Gulf countries.
According to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), American forces struck Iranian military logistics facilities, surveillance sites, underground weapons storage locations and maritime infrastructure in cities including Ahvaz and Yazd.
Iranian state media also reported explosions in parts of Hormozgan Province, including areas near the strategic port of Bandar Abbas, as the campaign expanded deeper into southern Iran. Tehran accused Washington of increasingly targeting civilian infrastructure, while the U.S. maintained that the strikes were aimed at degrading Iran’s military capabilities.
Iran responded by launching missiles and drones toward U.S. military facilities and allied positions in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, with regional air defense systems intercepting several projectiles. The escalation has also worsened humanitarian conditions inside Iran, where attacks on infrastructure have disrupted essential services.
Reports indicate that more than 10,000 people in southern Iran are without access to water, while damage to roads, bridges and utilities continues to mount. The latest exchanges have further rattled global energy markets, with oil prices remaining elevated amid concerns over security in the Strait of Hormuz.
