Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made Barcelona forward Ferran Torres their top attacking target after ending their pursuit of Yan Diomande, who is now expected to join Real Madrid.
The French champions had been pushing hard to sign Diomande, but talks collapsed over the transfer fee and other financial demands. With that deal now off the table, PSG have quickly shifted their focus to Torres, a player manager Luis Enrique knows well from their successful time together with the Spain national team.
According to reports, PSG are prepared to offer the Spanish forward a four-year contract with improved wages in an attempt to convince him to move to Paris. Club officials believe the 26-year-old could add versatility to their attack, with Torres capable of playing across the front three or as a false nine.
Barcelona, however, are not actively looking to sell the World Cup-winning forward. The Catalan club still see Torres as an important squad player and value his ability to deliver in big matches. Despite that stance, reports suggest a substantial offer in excess of €70 million could force Barcelona to reconsider because of the club’s ongoing financial balancing act.
The move has generated mixed reactions among supporters. Some believe Torres would thrive under Luis Enrique again, while others question whether PSG should spend heavily on another attacker after already reshaping their squad this summer.
For now, no official bid has been submitted, but PSG’s interest is expected to intensify in the coming days as they look to strengthen their frontline before the transfer window closes.
