MrBeast Marries Thea Booysen in Private Necker Island Wedding

YouTube megastar Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has officially married longtime girlfriend Thea Booysen in an intimate ceremony on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, choosing a private celebration over the extravagant spectacles that made him famous.

The wedding brought together around 70 close friends and family members for a week-long celebration that began on July 14, featuring activities such as kitesurfing, snorkeling, and feeding the island’s resident flamingos and lemurs before the couple exchanged vows.

Booysen, a South African content creator, gamer and author, wore a custom Nicole + Felicia Couture lace wedding gown, while Donaldson opted for a cream Ralph Lauren tuxedo. The ceremony was officiated by a longtime family friend, with celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum overseeing the celebrations.

The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars before celebrating with guests over sushi, Wagyu beef and Booysen’s favourite carrot cake. Instead of a celebrity-filled after-party, many guests spent the evening playing board games and card games together, reflecting the couple’s preference for a relaxed atmosphere.

The couple first met in South Africa in 2022 during one of Donaldson’s visits. What began as a long-distance relationship soon grew into a serious partnership, with Booysen frequently travelling between South Africa and the United States before eventually relocating. Donaldson proposed on Christmas Day 2024, announcing their engagement a few days later.

Despite building a career around videos featuring private islands, million-dollar prizes and global audiences, MrBeast said he deliberately wanted his wedding to remain deeply personal.

“We wanted it to be about the people we love, not a huge public spectacle,” he explained after the ceremony. Booysen described the week as “heaven,” saying it strengthened her love for Donaldson and expressing hope that friends and family would reunite for similar gatherings in future years.

News of the wedding quickly spread across social media, where fans congratulated the couple and jokingly welcomed Booysen as “MrsBeast.” Many also praised Donaldson for keeping one of the biggest moments of his life remarkably private despite being one of the world’s most recognizable internet personalities.
