Chelsea Top Premier League Net Spend Table with €901m Over Five Seasons

Chelsea have recorded the highest net transfer spend among Premier League clubs over the past five seasons, according to data compiled by Transfermarkt and shared by Prime Video Sport UK. The Blues sit top of the rankings with a net spend of €901 million, ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (€795m), Manchester United (€713m), Arsenal (€675m) and Manchester City (€562m).

The figures, covering transfer activity from the 2022/23 through the 2026/27 windows, have reignited debates over whether heavy investment translates into success on the pitch. Chelsea’s spending has come under intense scrutiny since the BlueCo takeover, although the club has also generated substantial income through player sales to help remain within Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Manchester City supporters have pointed to the club’s recent trophy haul as evidence of efficient recruitment despite spending less than their rivals, while Chelsea fans argue the club has added silverware of its own, including the UEFA Conference League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup during the same period.

With Premier League clubs continuing to dominate the global transfer market, the latest rankings once again highlight the financial muscle of England’s top flight and the growing debate over spending versus success.
